Iron Seas Online
Syncronizing with the Vassal Server
To Play Iron Seas Online players are required to log into and syncronize with anther player on the Vassal Site Server.  The server allows one player to be the host and other players to sync into the game the host has started.  The game module file determines how many players can play that particular game.  Others may sync in and merely observe.  Once synced in players take turns playing as if they would play a typical game board except they use the module's die roller and must use the chat dialog box to communicate.   Send an email to the players you expect to play with indicating the day and time when everyone will sync in.
To start a game log on to the internet.  Start a game that you want to play by choosing "File" then "Load Game."  It's a good idea to have a game already built with the counters you want to use in position to start.  That way you don't have to waste time now doing all that.  Once you have a game going, open the Vassal Controls Dialog box and pick Server.  Once you do this you will be logged onto the server and see something similar to the dialog box below.
Type in the game you will be playing in the "New Game" box.   The server uses your particular  identification info set up after going into "preferences" under the  "file" drop down (which you should have already done).

If you are playing someone elses game you would open Vassal.  From here log into the server.  You can find your host by looking in the main room and picking the person you would like to sync into.  Right click on their name  then choose sync.  This will sync you into the game synced with that host and you can begin to play.

Wow!  That was easy!
